Go figure, that a person of Danny's stature would resign under the pressures that have been inflicted on him and the whole region for almost a century. Danny Glover is one voice that will sourly be missed. He is a true patriot, fighter and uniter that should run and could run for any office here in Middle Georgia. What a crying shame that no one would support his ideas and blacklist him like they do any independant and uniting voice here especially in Macon. The haters are winning and I'm sure they are dancing with glee at the resignation of one of Macon's truest son's and I am appauled at all the vitrial and backstabbing that this honest and hardworking uniter is receiving without regard to all he has already done to bring CHANGE here in Macon that affects ALL Middle Georgia. The Democratic Party here in Middle Georgia has given itself a real blow, and it shows how much we desperately need to get rid of the STATUS QUO. Republi-no-can-do's and Democratic Party here in Middle Georgia are united in this, that they know how to ruin just about anything that can move this region forward to a more inclusive place to live, to work and gain any sign of prosperity. It's a very sad day indeed...:/

I am now debating myself whether consolidation is good or bad for our community as a whole. Divided government here has caused alot of stagnation throughout the last 30 years, with no end in sight unless CHANGE happens soon. Almost 90+ years later that a historical city like Macon Georgia has not grown but reduced in population is appauling to say the least. I am also appauled at the bickering and the lack of fortitude, discord and lack of unity that the City Counsel has displayed throughout the years preceding my arrival here 2 years ago. And it is one of the reasons I decided to run for State Senate District 26. We talk about the Republi-no-can-do's yet we as Democrats here in Macon Georgia some have displayed the same deck of cards with each other. What blatant hypocracy. We desperately need a CHANGE of attitudes that I sincerely believe will not happen unless the whole government structure is disbanded and let some others with fresh eyes take a chance at doing what is best for all Middle Georgians. To continue on the same path with the same people will only give the same results that have held Middle Georgia back for nearly a century. Divisiveness, stagnation, high crime rates, poverty, lack of education, is the staus quo. We need CHANGE NOW!

Why I am running for State Senator District 26th, Middle Georgia

I first met Heather Kaney Burge when I was a student at Georgia Southern looking to transfer to UGA: I was doing a tour of Athens and the campus with my mother when we decided to do some shopping downtown. As fate would have it, I stepped in to Encore Boutique and met Heather- she was an ADPi like myself and we got to talking. She told me of her plans to open her own boutique either in Statesboro or Savannah. Well, fate stepped in again and she choose Savannah. BlueBelle Boutique is one of THE hottest boutiques in Savannah- and one I have kept my eyes on for some time. I have not made it down to Savannah in several years but have noticed the fashion scene just keeps getting bigger and bigger. When you have someone like Andre Leon Talley curating an exhibit for your local arts school (aka SCAD- Savannah College of Art and Design) then you have a pretty big thing going on.

So, I knew I had to reach out to Heather. Luckily, she remembered me from several years ago and was more than happy to oblige my interview request. I will get right to it.

Make It Work Molly: When we first met in Athens, you knew at that time you would be opening a boutique – I remember you saying either in Statesboro or Savannah. Why Savannah?

some have said the entries into the senate race are making a mockery out of macon politics.......I SAID TOOOO LATE!!!!!  its been that way for years
